Day 1
Nairobi to the Aberdare highlands, a cool, forested range unlike the rest of the safari country, with a chance of the elusive bongo and giant forest hog. Day 2: Descend to Lake Nakuru for its rhino sanctuary and, in the right years, its flamingos. Day 3: Transfer to Lake Naivasha for a hippo boat trip and a walking sanctuary. Day 4: Drive to the Masai Mara, arriving for an afternoon game drive. Day 5: Full day in the Mara's big-cat country. Day 6: Second Mara day, reaching the quieter reaches of the reserve. Day 7: Dawn drive and return to Nairobi.
