Day 1
Fly Nairobi to Samburu in the arid north. Afternoon drive along the Ewaso Ng'iro river, where wildlife concentrates in an otherwise dry landscape. Day 2: Full day looking for the northern specialists — Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich, none of them found in the southern parks. Day 3: Transfer south to a Laikipia conservancy. Afternoon drive on private land where off-road and walking are permitted, unlike the national parks. Day 4: Morning at a rhino sanctuary that protects both black rhino and the last surviving northern white rhino, with time to learn how the conservancy funds its anti-poaching work. Afternoon walking safari. Day 5: Final drive, then fly back to Nairobi.
