Day 1: Entebbe to Kibale Forest, arriving for an evening briefing.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trek in Kibale, home to the highest density of primates in Africa. Afternoon guided swamp walk for monkeys and birdlife.

Day 3: Long, scenic transfer south toward Bwindi through tea country and terraced hills.

Day 4: Mountain gorilla trek in Bwindi — the strenuous walk in, then the permitted hour with a habituated family.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe for onward travel.

7-Day Uganda Primates & Wildlife

Day 1: Entebbe to Kibale Forest.

Day 2: Morning chimpanzee trek; afternoon at leisure or an optional bird-rich swamp walk.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, lined with hippos, buffalo and one of the densest concentrations of water birds in Africa.

Day 4: Game drives in the Kasenyi plains, then south to the Ishasha sector, known for lions that rest in the fig trees — a genuine local behaviour, though never guaranteed on the day.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi through the forest edge.

Day 6: Mountain gorilla trek in Bwindi.

Day 7: Return to Entebbe.

10-Day Ultimate Uganda

Day 1: Entebbe to Lake Mburo, the small park where you can walk and boat among zebra and antelope.

Day 2: Morning walking safari and a boat trip, then transfer toward the southwest.

Day 3: Continue to Bwindi.

Day 4: Mountain gorilla trek.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth via the Ishasha sector and its fig-tree lions.

Day 6: Kazinga Channel boat cruise and plains game drives.

Day 7: North to Kibale Forest.

Day 8: Chimpanzee trek and a swamp walk.

Day 9: Return toward Entebbe with a stop at the Ziwa rhino sanctuary.

Day 10: Departure.

6-Day Rwanda in Full

Day 1: Arrive Kigali, city tour including the Genocide Memorial — a sober, important part of understanding the country.

Day 2: Transfer to the Virungas; afternoon at leisure.

Day 3: Mountain gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park.

Day 4: Drive south along Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s great lakes, to the edge of Nyungwe. Afternoon at leisure by the water.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trek in Nyungwe Forest, followed by its canopy walkway suspended high above the rainforest.

Day 6: Return to Kigali for departure.

8-Day Rwanda Primates & Big Five

Day 1: Arrive Kigali; city and memorial.

Day 2: Transfer to the Virungas.

Day 3: Mountain gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park.

Day 4: Long transfer south to Nyungwe along Lake Kivu.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trek and the canopy walkway in Nyungwe.

Day 6: Cross the country east to Akagera, a savanna park on the Tanzanian border.

Day 7: Full day in Akagera. Lions were reintroduced in 2015 and rhinos in 2017 after local extinction, restoring the Big Five to a park that had lost them — a story your guide can tell first-hand.

Day 8: Morning drive or boat on Lake Ihema, then return to Kigali.

7-Day Uganda Primates & Wildlife

Day 1: Fly Entebbe to Fort Portal. Afternoon arrival at Kibale Forest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale. Morning briefing, forest trek, one hour with habituated chimps. Afternoon primate walk for other species.

Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Afternoon Kazinga Channel boat safari.

Day 4: Ishasha sector — tree-climbing lions in the southern sector. Full day game drive.

Day 5: Drive or fly to Bwindi. Afternoon briefing and ranger talk.

Day 6: Mountain gorilla trekking. The centrepiece of the journey.

Day 7: Morning cultural experience with the Batwa community. Fly back to Entebbe.
